Hello Cat Frens,
My kitty “Eights” has a big birthday coming up and I’m having a little party. Yes, EIGHTS is turning EIGHT at the end of February and I’m inviting you to her birthday tea on Sunday, March 3rd, noon to 4pm. My address is at the end of the email. Map is here.
Appropriate presents for Her Royal Highness
- Your presence! Seriously, Eights has plenty of stuff so just your smiling face is enough. Also the willingness to celebrate the notable birthday of a small yet regal feline whom you may not actually see because she’s hiding under the bed.
- Anything you’d like to eat or drink, in particular.
- The menu will consist mostly of cookies. Everything will be vegetarian; vegan, gluten-free and sugar-free items will also be available. Please get in touch if you have any additional dietary needs or preferences.
- There will be tea, juice, soda, etc. as well as liquor for my fellow day drinkers. The house cocktail will be the “Big City Cat,” an (orange) twist on the classic Manhattan.
If you insist, however, Eights likes
- Cardboard boxes
- Tissue paper or packing paper. She likes to eat these so no newspapers please.
- Freeze-dried tuna or salmon treats
- Temptations® treats
- Churu® treats
- Certificates for MOAR SNUGGLES WITH MOM. MOAR MOAR MOAR NEVER ENUF. Eights is wonderful and I love her very much but at some point I need to get up and pee/eat/earn a living. Go ahead, enable our dysfunctional relationship. Extra points for crayon drawings.
- Brushes for fur.
- Toys with or without catnip. Either is fine, but she’s not a big stoner.
- Anything “eight”-themed would also be fun (NO spiders though).
Inappropriate presents
- Costumes and party hats. She will not wear these under any circumstances.
- Electronic toys. She’s scared of these.
- Ribbons, bows or string. She may eat these and they could get tangled up in her intestines.
- Flowers. A lot of them are toxic to cats, especially LILIES of any kind.
RSVP so I know how much food to have.
Thank you! We hope to see you soon!
