OSWALD is a new free font from fontsquirrel.com, available as an OTF download. It was designed by excellent and prolific typographer Vernon Adams (other fontsquirrel fonts, newtypography.co.uk blog). Oswald is a strong condensed sans serif with Light, Regular and Bold weights as well as an all-caps Stencil style. It looks good in headlines and in limited amounts of medium-sized text — it’s too condensed for small type. My only complaint is that the crossbars on the lower-case “e”s are strangely thin.
